Your lovely bones
finding your strength through menopause

Welcome to Your-lovely-bones.com a space where women can find support and guidance during one of life’s most significant transitions—menopause.  I’m Thorunn Björnsdóttir Bacon, and for thirty years, I’ve worked with women of all ages as an Osteopath, Naturopath, exercise therapist and life coach.

Through my work I have gathered a deep understanding the profound changes women experience during menopause, particularly when it comes to musculoskeletal health. For many women, menopause and perimenopause can feel like walking through a doorway into an unknown world, where new and unfamiliar symptoms begin to emerge. Brain fog, sleep disturbances, heightened anxiety, hot flashes, and muscular and joint pains are just some of the challenges that  can appear during this time.

Pain, discomfort and loss of strength  and agility  can make you feel like you’re losing a sense of who you are, all of a sudden you're not as strong as you used to be and even daily activities can seem harder than before. I recently conducted a study of over 250 women, which highlighted how much women in peri-menopause and menopause are affected by joint aches and pains and back pain.

But menopause isn't all bad. It is a part of the natural cycle of life and I truly believe menopause can be a touchstone—a moment in life that allows us to reflect on our lives: an opportunity to reevaluate our health and well-being, to adapt to the shifts in our bodies, and to make the changes necessary for long-term vitality. It’s a time to ‘age-proof’ ourselves by focusing on strengthening our musculoskeletal system and enhancing our emotional and spiritual resilience.

I created Your-lovely-bones.com
as a platform to support women to adapt  and overcome the musculoskeletal issues, the aches and pains, that can accompany peri-menopause and menopause.  I want to support you on this journey, helping you to care for your body, mind, and spirit as you navigate the changes of menopause.  Let’s work together to ensure that this transition is not just a challenge but also an opportunity to become a better version of ourselves.
